چکیده

The Schrödinger equation is considered on the half line with a selfadjoint boundary condition when the potential is real valued, integrable, and has a finite first moment. It is proved that the potential and the two boundary conditions are uniquely determined by a set of spectral data containing the discrete eigenvalues for a boundary condition at the origin, the continuous part of the spectral measure for that boundary condition, and a subset of the discrete eigenvalues for a different boundary condition. This result provides a generalization of the celebrated uniqueness theorem of Borg and Marchenko using two sets of discrete spectra to the case where there is also a continuous spectrum. The proof employed yields a method to recover the potential and the two boundary conditions, and it also constructs data sets used in various inversion methods. A comparison is made with the uniqueness result of Gesztesy and Simon using Krein’s spectral shift function as the inversion data.

Inverse Spectral-scattering Problem with Two Sets of Discrete Spectra for the Radial Schrödinger Equation

Abstract: The Schrödinger equation on the half line is considered with a real-valued, integrable potential having a finite first moment. It is shown that the potential and the boundary conditions are uniquely determined by the data containing the discrete eigenvalues for a boundary condition at the origin, the continuous part of the spectral measure for that boundary condition, and a subset of ...

Supersymmetry and Schrödinger-type operators with distributional matrix-valued potentials

Building on work on Miura’s transformation by Kappeler, Perry, Shubin, and Topalov, we develop a detailed spectral theoretic treatment of Schrödinger operators with matrix-valued potentials, with special emphasis on distributional potential coefficients. Our principal method relies on a supersymmetric (factorization) formalism underlying Miura’s transformation, which intimately connects the tri...

Skew-self-adjoint discrete and continuous Dirac type systems: inverse problems and Borg-Marchenko theorems

New formulas on the inverse problem for the continuous skewself-adjoint Dirac type system are obtained. For the discrete skewself-adjoint Dirac type system the solution of a general type inverse spectral problem is also derived in terms of the Weyl functions. The description of the Weyl functions on the interval is given. BorgMarchenko type uniqueness theorems are derived for both discrete and ...

Uniqueness Theorems in Inverse Spectral Theory for One-dimensional Schrödinger Operators

New unique characterization results for the potential V (x) in connection with Schrödinger operators on R and on the half-line [0,∞) are proven in terms of appropriate Krein spectral shift functions. Particular results obtained include a generalization of a well-known uniqueness theorem of Borg and Marchenko for Schrödinger operators on the half-line with purely discrete spectra to arbitrary sp...

Spectral Asymptotics for Perturbed Spherical Schrödinger Operators and Applications to Quantum Scattering

We find the high energy asymptotics for the singular Weyl–Titchmarsh m-functions and the associated spectral measures of perturbed spherical Schrödinger operators (also known as Bessel operators). We apply this result to establish an improved local Borg–Marchenko theorem for Bessel operators as well as uniqueness theorems for the radial quantum scattering problem with nontrivial angular momentum.
